Kary B. Mullis discovered the Polymerase Chain Reaction in mid of 1980's. This invention has revolutionized the molecular biological studies. PCR is a basic application in today's world. With this technology, small amount of DNA or RNA is amplified into large quantities. This occurs when DNA is mixed with primers on both the ends. PCR is an additional tool into the toolkit of molecular biologists.
BioDot offers range of PCR cabinets, which has repeatedly simplified the PCR and other contamination-controlled processes. The PCR cabinet range of Biodot provides ULPA-filtered vertical laminar flow. During the preparatory process, the contaminants are purged into the work area. BioDot has an integrated UV lamp, which helps in decontamination during the work performance of the experiment. These products are offered at a competitive price range. BioDot also offers range of Conventional thermal cyclers and "Real Time" Thermal Cyclers. These cyclers are specially designed to meet necessary requirements during all kinds of PCR processes like:
- Touch down PCR
- Gradient PCR
- In situ PCR
- High Throughput PCR
There is variety of PCR tubes, slides and plates used during the different PCR processes. The two types of PCR cabinets manufactured by BioDot are Airstream PCR cabinets and Streamline PCR cabinets.
In a PCR reaction there are huge number of DNA or RNA stands and they are amplified. In order to prevent contamination of the process certain precautions are taken. The most important part of this process is to be alert during reagent and sample preparation. The laboratory conditions should be ideal. The three areas which require monitoring are:
- Prepare the reagent in the specified reagent preparation area. This is carried through a pass box or a closed container.
- After the final mix, the tubes should be carefully transferred to the amplification area where pass boxes or closed containers are again used.
- Now all the amplification and result analysis is carried in a specified area.
For the contaminant-free samples, it is very essential to work in the right environment with the right products. BioDot guarantees the right sample preparation products. The plates are 100% pure and manufactured from genuine virgin metal grade. The polypropylene used is FDA approved. The ultra-thin walls of plates ensure effective thermal transfer. This results in maximum output. BioDot offers clear and highly polished surface of plates. The BioDot Real Time PCR or better know as RT-qPCR, plates have maximum signal return. These plates have bold prints of alpha numeric indexing. There is barcoding available on Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction plates, available in white and black.
BioDot's pure PCR Tubes and Caps are thin walled and are available individually or in strips of 8. These strip caps are compatible with 96 real time PCR plates. The plates have special thermal properties with minimum warp and high clarity for visualizing the contents. They are made up of cent per cent virgin polypropylene. The caps are of pierceable and non-pierceable nature. Some plates have self-sealing properties. And, both plates and caps are available in square and round forms.
A laboratory technique that works on PCR, targeting DNA molecules, amplified and later quantified.
qPCR is a molecular biological term; it is called Quantitative Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction or Kinetic Polymerase Chain Reaction. In genetic research and diagnostics, the analysis of RT-qPCR is one of the most important techniques. This technique has a huge scope in future, as decribed above. Today its usage and acceptance is ever increasing.
For any scientist gene expression of high biological relevance is very important and crucial. qPCR is one of the most popular gene expression analyses. There are still some challenges with this approach while obtaining gene expression for any biological relevance.
In order to get fast and accurate gene expression from all relevant gene research area qPCR technique is the most idealistic approach.
BioDot offers reliable tools for parallel quantitative analysis of gene expression.
BioDot has efficiently utilized the different areas of qPCR technology. Some of these are: Sample Distribution, Reaction miniaturization, qPCR reaction make-up.

StellaARay qPCR Arrays have multi-functional qualities to help scientists. The primer parts detect RNA and genomic DNA in two separate assays. This directly analyses gene expression and genomic DNA copy-number variations.
BioDot also provides custom array packages to find out the genes of interest. BioDot helps researchers to find out most appropriate StellARray qPCR arrays or list of genes, which are associated with particular research area. There are list of genes, disease areas or gene name mentioned in the web portal. You can search by simply logging the details in the custom plate on web portal.
BioDot is a leader in supplying reliable gene expression instrument. Very soon it will trap all the emerging markets of qPCR technology.
The analysis of amplifying DNA code or sequence.
A low-volume polymerase chain reaction (low-volume PCR) is a process in which a piece of DNA code or sequence is greatly amplified, resulting in copies that range in number from one to a million (or several million) of the sampled sequence (but only one to five in the case of the low volume variant). This process is mainly used in biology or in molecular biology to observe and modify existing aspects of DNA codes.
PCR and it's low-volume variant are an important aspect of the modernized scientific testing procedures employed today. The process involves exposing the sampled DNA sequence to repeated changes in temperature, usually measured in cycles of heating and cooling. Under these circumstances, the sample is forced to react with added components (mainly two) known as primers and DNA polymerase. The use of primers (which are in fact DNA fragments short in length that display affinity for the sample) along with the DNA Polymerase and temperature cycle exposure, cause a chain reaction in which the sampled DNA sequence greatly amplifies and replicates itself several times over. The result displays itself as several copies of the original material which can be used for many purposes, many of which compliment studies in genomic applications and biological research being conducted in today's world.
