FISH
BioDot’s CellWriter™ with FISHArray™ slides offers today’s FISH laboratories a way to reduce costs per sample and generate a greater number of assays. These smart technologies utilize smaller probe volumes and multiplexing assay slides as well as reduce processing time.
CellWriter technology:
- Automates slide preparation
- Utilizes less probe volume
- Reduces cost per sample
- Decreases processing time
FISHArray Technology
FISHArray reduces the area on a slide that is needed to perform a FISH assay. Up to 8 unique assays can be hybridized simultaneously on a single slide.

Cell Concentration Normalization
Nuclei spreading is a function of cell concentration, slide temperature and the relative humidity in the air space next to the slide. CellWriter measures the cell concentration of each sample in real-time, adjusting concentration prior to dispensing cells onto the slide surface. This results in highly consistent concentration and spreading.
On-Chip Pretreatment
With on-chip pretreatment, reactions are now measured in microliters, not liters. This pretreatment process, designed for FISHArray, utilizes the CellWriter drop-based automation to apply chemistries automatically to hybridization areas, while timing, temperature and volumes are precisely controlled.
PIMS
This fully-evolved probe inventory system manages every probe in the lab. Whether CellWriter is performing hybridizations for suspension-based FISH assays or FFPE, volumes are measured, monitored and reported on in real-time – both to users in the lab and managers in their offices.
LIS Integration
Phaselink is the user interface software for the CellWriter workstation. Beyond managing the automation process, it has the ability to integrate digitally with the existing lab infrastructure (often directly with LIS) to obtain the daily run data.
