BioDot Opens its First Entity in Japan to be able to Educate Scientists to Commercialize their R&D Ideas Through to Manufactured Product
Effective March 15, BioDot Inc is expanding its global reach within Japan. The company has decided to forgo using a distributor supply chain and to staff its own entity. Barbara McIntosh, VP Sales & Marketing of BioDot feels “as BioDot continues to grow, it is critical to us that the message to our customers remains consistent. BioDot has extensive knowledge of manufacturing and material handling, and by having our own team in place, we can be assured that they are focused on customers needs and applications, thus bring the best service to the industry. Japan is an important marketplace for our core lateral flow business, and we are hoping with our own staff that we can expand to Molecular Diagnostics, including FISH, PCR, and Nextgen Sequencing applications, as well as continue our growth in the field of biosensors and microfluidics."
The BioDot Japan office is already completely staffed with sales, support, and applications personnel to continue with BioDot mission of educating scientists to develop their R&D products through to commercialized products. To be consistent with BioDot’s other offices (Shanghai, London, and Irvine, CA), BioDot Japan will also conduct our “hands on” workshops as training tools to support customer focus. Soemon Omomo, a previous manager of BioDot’s earlier distribution team will return to BioDot as the General Manager of BioDot Japan. BioDot will be updating its website to include a Japanese language version to reflect the new wholly owned entity.
